Toma Barylak

Vice President, Advisory Services, San Francisco, CA

Toma brings to SR Inc and its members a decade of business development, advisory service and analytical experience in the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and attendant renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors. He helps companies develop and execute business strategies that reduce cost, mitigate risk and maximize brand and shareholder value. Toma began his career with a 100 year old international industrial supplier. There he served as a single point of contact for Fortune 500 companies and managed a division of a sales operation with over $10M in daily revenue. He subsequently joined a global CRE service and advisory firm – The Staubach Company – where he delivered best-in-class strategic planning, quantitative and transaction services to private and public corporations. Toma’s proprietary and actionable market research reports and “opportunity assessments” were integral to the firm’s clients making highly informed and qualified real estate decisions.

After a six year career in CRE, Toma invested his experience into fostering greater energy efficiency and overall sustainability in the built environment. Initially, he led a research and analysis effort for a national developer of commercial, retail and residential properties, exploring the detailed financial implications of various renewal energy and energy efficiency retrofit strategies across the portfolio. For the last year, Toma served as the VP of Business Development for GroundSource Geothermal, a 2008 winner of the “Sustainability” prize at the California CleanTech Open. Toma holds an BA from Cornell University and is committed to promoting technologies and management practices that enhance the performance, productivity and sustainability of CRE and of the organizations that call it home.
