Jim Lang

Jim Lang is an accomplished senior executive with line and consulting leadership experience at the CEO and Board level. He has a demonstrated track record of rapid and dramatic improvement in the equity value of companies led or advised. Jim was most recently the President and Chief Operating Officer of Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA). In his 2 year tenure there, he doubled the size of the business and dramatically improved its profitability.

Prior to CERA, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Strategic Decisions Group (SDG), where he specialized in growth strategy, organizational transformation, and performance turnarounds. He founded the firm’s Boston and Houston offices and has lived in many countries around the globe. He led an initial sale, MBO, and subsequent sale of SDG. His professional experience spans the life sciences, energy, high tech, financial services and manufacturing industries. Jim is an active angel investor, with investments in healthcare, clean energy, and business services.

Before joining SDG, he held planning and engineering positions at Analog Devices, Data General Corporation, and AT&T. Mr. Lang holds a BS summa cum laude in electrical and computer engineering from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA with Distinction from the Tuck School of Business, where he was named an Edward Tuck Scholar.
